TODAY’S MEDITATION – Your spiritual strength is found in Christ (Psalm 22:19)

Yesterday we had a prayer session. Everyone who attended was literally tired. But our God is so good, because no one returned the way they had come. He truly knows what we need. Most of the time, when we are tired of something, we get rid of it; when we are tired of someone, we move away from them. My brother, my sister, when you feel physically, emotionally or spiritually tired, and no matter what causes that, draw neared to Christ, your Lord. Do you think He does not know you are tired? Yesterday Jesus really showed us how much He loves us and how much He cares for us because we all came pulling our feet, but the Lord spoke to us through the Word of God and He showed us that we get tired when we are actually far from Him. My brother, my sister, realise today that the Lord has already provided you with a spirit of power (2 Timothy 1:7),that is strengthened by the Holy Spirit who dwells in you. Have you been leaning on this power or have you been using your own resources lately?

Today acknowledge that the Lord IS your strength: “But you, O Lord, be not far off; O my Strength, come quickly to help me”. The fact is, the Lord never moves far from us, but we do move far from Him because of our many earthly commitments, our disobedience to His principles, etc. Sometimes too, because we are human beings, the long wait for the answer to our prayers, the adversity of life, the untiring enemy who is always after us trying to kill, steal or destroy us… yes, all that can make any of us tired and even drag us far from His loving care. Yet the Word of God says: “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lor will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:29-31). Only the Lord Jesus can refresh your soul when it is down; only Him can strengthen your bones when they are fainting; only Him can gather you together when you feel you are falling into pieces. But it cannot happen when you stand afar… draw nearer Him, for His precious hand to touch you today.

May all who feel weak in their flesh today renew their strength spiritually in Christ by confessing the living Word: “The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights” (Habakkuk 3:19). Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
