TODAY’S MEDITATION – You cannot meet Jesus and remain the same! (Luke 8:2-3)

In this passage, which is more about women, the Bible says “After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.” My brother, and especially my sister, know that you cannot meet Jesus and remain the same. Here we learn that Jesus lifted women up from servitude to the joy of fellowship and service when He allowed them to travel with Him, just to show that all people are equal under God.

One interesting thing to learn today is that, many people are looking for healing, deliverance, marriage, children, housing, work, etc… but are not ready to fellowship or even serve the Lord! The life of all these women was never the same again after they met Jesus: He changed their status from outcast or demon possessed people to servants of His Majesty! What can you say about your status today: has it really changed since you met Jesus? Yes, most of the women who were supporting the Lord in His ministry are not named, and this should teach us one thing: HUMILITY is the key! Therefore, man or woman, know that whatever you do to serve Jesus can be invisible for men but just as essential to Him. Serving the Lord is supporting His work in any way you can. Therefore, offer yourself, offer your abilities or resources and all you can to fellowship and serve Him, whether or not you will be on the spotlight. You are not doing it for men, you are doing it for Him. Truly, when humility drives you to fellowship and service, it won’t be a problem for you to serve the Lord without the need for recognition of men for what you are doing… that’s how you will also know that Jesus has really transformed you for service… because you have met Him! Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
