TODAY’S MEDITATION – You are the glory of God (Isaiah 60:1)

My brother, my sister, the next time you wonder who you are, remember this: “I am the image and the glory of God!” My friend, do you know what it means? It means that you have everything to draw near to the pure and powerful God who is your Father and radiate His heat and light to this fallen world. Today, I want to address men especially because our societies have ensured man has lost his place, his presence, his capabilitity to do what God intended him to be by giving women power and taking care of woman, protecting her and children… My brother, the role God has given you is to look after your family: “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever” (1 Timothy 5:8). Therefore, it is man’s role to take care of his family as its leader, just as Jesus takes care of His Church as its head. Besides, the Bible says: “A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man” (1 Corinthians 11:7)… The glory of God! That’s what you are.

When looking at how our societies operate today we understand why nothing can work well: the rights of children are given to women over men and sometimes man can no longer speak in the family he founded. My friend, that’s the work of the devil. Yes, the truth is that when Satan looks at a born again person, he sees the reflection of the Almighty God shining forth from that person. And as Satan’s only purpose is to steal, kill and destroy what God made, he will try to push even the children of God to live like unbelievers. Why? He is jealous of us and hates us with an intensity that we cannot possibly begin to imagine. Yet, my friend, if God says He shares His own glory with us who are we to disbelieve Him? Who are we to say we do no deserve it? It is God who decided to make us who we are, so we should just give Him glory, praise and thank Him forever, instead of dwelling in sin or things that please Satan more than glorify God.

My friend, stop contradicting God, you’re not an animal to live on instinct, you are the glory of God; you’re not finished, you are the glory of God forever; you are not a victim, you are the glory of God and all that happens to you is under His control; you’re not a fool, you are the glory of God; you are no longer condemned for what you have done in the past, you have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus. Leave the past where it is, grab the new garment that Jesus has covered you with when accepted Him as your Lord and Saviour and be the man or woman you’re supposed to be. My friend, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you” (Isaiah 60:1). Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
