There are many occurrences of the destruction of the temple in the Bible, or rather of unfaithful temples! Today we are the temple of God, so we should always be careful about what we are doing in the name of God, lest we are heading for destruction. My brother, my sister, your place of worship is not as important to God as your priorities in worship. You know, God is looking at the sincerity of your heart alone. For the Lord, it is not important whether you worship under a tree, in a house or in a church building… that is why He said “for WHERE two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:20). My friends, it is not about WHEN people are gathered, it is about WHERE they are gathered! My Besides, for the Lord to be WHERE two or three, gather, we need to ensure that what He is telling us on the verses preceding this verse apply too (Matthew 18:18-20)… God is a love and peace. If you reject His commands in your daily life, you are turning your worship into a mocking lie because they words you are saying you don’t really mean them, just like someone who is praying for help he does not really believe will come. In today’s verse, the Lord can reject his own altar : “The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary. He has given the walls of her palaces into the hands of the enemy.” So, my friend, earnestly seek God and catch a fresh vision of His love and care to be able to worship Him wholeheartedly, in truth and in Spirit. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
