TODAY’S MEDITATION – Why don’t you let the Holy Spirit drive you? (Galatians 5:16-18)

The other day, I was watching a movie and what stroke me was that there was a man who always won his cases, even when he was wrong. I started wondering: why is this man always winning? He always called specialised lawyers to deal with his troubles. Now, this brought me to remember that Jesus said: “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:26). My brother, my sister, the Holy Spirit is your advocate, not only to teach you what Jesus said, but also to comfort you, to counsel you and to help you. Why don’t you call Him to deal with your troubles? So often we hear believers saying they don’t know how to pray or that they are overwhelmed with unwanted situations or their weaknesses. The Bible says “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans” (Romans 8:26). Some people say, they need direction or guidance for their lives; The Bible says “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come” (John 16:13). Some people don’t find it hard to understand what they read in the Bible, while the Bible says: ” The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God” (1 Corinthians 2:6-14)… My friend, all this to say that if you don’t use the Spirit of God who is dwelling within you, then your walk with the Lord lacks power and taste and that is the reason why many things seem so hard to get, far to be reached… The Spirit of God is your advocate, so He is specialised in all the cases you are trying to deal with! Besides, you don’t have to pay Him to do something for you since Jesus paid it all on the cross for you. Today’s verse says “walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh”. Therefore, we should learn to seek for His guidance on a daily basis, to let Him take control for He makes us strong when we are weak (2 Corinthians 12:10). You have no strength to fight the battles of this world on your own. But with the Spirit of God you are more than conqueror. Today, change the direction of your gearbox and set the speed on the Holy Spirit, then let the Spirit of God lead you from now on… as for you, don’t look back, left or right, for the driver knows exactly where you are going and what is good for you. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
