TODAY’S MEDITATION – Wherever you are, the Lord is also there (Psalm 139:7-12)

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, one of the many benefits we enjoy is His divine presence. My brother, my sister, there is absolutely no place we can hide from the Lord. Jesus is telling us this morning that “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them” (John 14:23). What an assurance to know that the Great Almighty Lord has made His home with me, with you? My friends, when discouragement and all the odds of life seem to be taking more space in your life, never give up, because the mighty Lord, the King of kings and the one whose name is above all names has made His home in you. So why worry my friends? You see, my friends, today listen to this: do not believe in man or in yourself: you can do nothing by your own strength to change your life or your situation. You see, in the world people think that when someone takes aspirin because of headache and the headache ends, it’s the aspirin the doctor gave them that helped. No my friend, it is God who allowed the aspirin to help! Just think about this: some people would take the same aspirin but die or the headaches does not end. That is why we must believe in the who can Help us because He has already won all victories for us on the Cross and He is telling us today : “Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me” (“John 14:1). Indeed, as you believe in Him you will enjoy His peace. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27). And not only that, my friend. There is no place you can hide from His divine presence; wherever you are, the Lord will find you to give you His peace and love, for the Word says: “If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,’ even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you” (Psalm 139:7-12). Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
