TODAY’S MEDITATION – When the love of others fails or disappoint you, you can rest in God’s unfailing love (Psalm 59:7-8)

Today’s passage says this: “See what they spew from their mouths – the words from their lips are sharp as swords, and they think, “Who can hear us?” But you laugh at them, Lord; you scoff at all those nations.

Most of the time we wonder if God does not see the evil that is taking place in this world and why he seems not to do anything about it. My brother, my sister, today’s passage tells us that vile people who curse God as if he cannot hear or will not respond are deceived because God scoffs at them; evil people who live as if God cannot see them or will not punish them are deceived because God watches patiently until that day when their deeds will rise up to accuse them.

My friend, as believers of Christ, we must be careful not to follow the same foolish practice as evil people. We must remember that God hears and sees all we do. Besides, God will never judge you and me based on what other people did or said, but only on what you and I do individually. Therefore, keep your heart from being affected or hunted by those who do evil, lest you start behaving like evil people. People around you can never love you the way Jesus loves you: they will turn against you when their interest is not satisfied, they will abandon you despite saying they love you… but Christ love for you is changeless and continues forever (Psalm 100:5). Yes, God’s mercy to all who trust Him is just as permanent as His unfailing love. So, when the love of others fails or disappoint you, you can rest in God’s unfailing love. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
