TODAY’S MEDITATION – When are you going to live in the present? (Proverbs 27:1)

When you ask young people who are still resistant or reluctant to accept Christ, they always tell you they will consider it one day in the future. And sadly enough, many believers who have accepted Christ do postpone following His teachings. My brother, my sister, the Bible says a house divided against itself cannot stand Mark 3:25). That’s the reason why so many believers’ faith is unsettled, wavering. Christ is the TRUTH, the life and the response to everything you are looking for in this world (peace, security, love, happiness, prosperity…). Therefore, know that the more you resist the change His Spirit wants to do in you by the renewal of your mind and the change of your heart (from selfishness to giving freely all you have and all you are), the longer it will take for you to be transformed in the liking of the Lord. The Bible says He wants you to prosper… Yes, do you want to prosper and be healthy in this life? Then the answer is simple: your spiritual life has to be healthy and prosperous first (3 John 1:2). It is therefore time for you to reflect today and stop postponing things The Lord wants you to do today. Today’s verse says “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” Yes, don’t boast about tomorrow and sit there waiting like the foolish who did not get oil when they had time to do so and had to go and look for some when the bridegroom came… But he left with those who did not postpone getting oil and were ready and shut the door (Matthew 25:8-13). The same, the Word says “Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you”– when you already have it with you” (Proverbs 3:28). You may ask: what does He want me to do! The answer is simple: check your own life and read His Word… Anything you think, do or say that is not according to His Word is dividing your temple and delaying the Lord’s action in your life, so it needs to be aligned with God’s Word. My friend, you are the only one you are delaying in doing so. Jesus has destroyed and defeated all the plans of Satan against you from the root… So as a redeemed ex-sinner, live a life that gives you free life abundantly in Jesus today, not tomorrow, because you are not even sure to see that tomorrow: remember the rich fool storing up treasures and planning a future where he was going to relax, eat, drink and be merry (Luke 12:20). “But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’” (Luke 12:20). My friend, there is one thing about those who postpone things: The Lord calls them FOOLISH… And this is because they have not yet understood He is sovereign in everything He does and even in our lives that He holds in His hands. Yes, you can’t be expecting His blessings today while postponing your faithfulness or obedience to His Word tomorrow. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
