TODAY’S MEDITATION – Whatever answer you are looking for is in the Word of God (1 Corinthians 10:1-5)

Today’s passage says this: “For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness. (1 Corinthians 10:1-5)

My brother, my sister, notice the repetition of the word ALL in this passage. Yes, when they came out of Egypt, all the Israelites were enjoying amazing blessings from God, advantages they all had without exception: the weakest to the strongest of them, from the youngest to the oldest of the… they were “all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea” (verse 1). Now we know that this “cloud” is a reference to the ‘Shekinah’, the glory of God that hovered over the camp of Israel, shining by day to guide them, and becoming a pillar of fire at night (Exodus 13:21-22). It is a symbol of the presence and protection of God among His people.

The Bible says: “These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come” (1 Corinthians 10:11). Therefore, we should see the parallel here: every believer of Christ is in this same position. We have all been delivered if we are Christians at all. We have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. We are now part of a new spiritual realm. Besides, we are protected: God is always watching over us and guarding u as He leads us where He wants us to be. So why and how can Christians say that they are lost. You can be lost only when you missed God’s way, because God never moves away from us.

My friend, no matter the difficulty you are going through, the outcome is in the Word of God! Why? Because the enemies that the children of God faced in the past are the same enemies that we have to face today; they are the same principalities and powers of darkness that are seeking to overcome us, assault us, discourage us and defeat us. Before you and I, the children of Israel went through the same battles… So, learn from their experiences; see how they trusted in God, held on to His promises, renewed their strength by faith, and then set about to diligently do what God set them to do… that is the picture for us of how to overcome in the struggles and the battles that we face in life. Yes, whatever answer, solution or outcome you are hoping for or looking for, the answer is in the Word of God. My friend, “there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Even your unwanted situation is a déjà-vu, so why try to invent a solution to get out of it… You have already prayed enough about it, right? (Some prefer to pray forever, because it is easier than applying the Word)! Today, look at what God is telling you to do in the Word concerning your situation, and once you find the answer, apply the Word fully… God is not a man to lie! Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
