TODAY’S MEDITATION – What spirit are you listening to inside of you? (2 Timothy 1:7)

In today’s verse, the Bible says “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” My brother, my sister, faith is having trust in Jesus even when angry waves arouse and no matter what comes our way, as we have the assurance that we are not alone, since the Lord said He will never leave us until the end of the ages. That is the reason why He said He was also leaving us with His peace: ” Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27). Yes, unfortunately, many people tend to give in to fear in their lives, and the forget why the Bible keep asking us not to be afraid. It is because fear imprisons you while faith releases you; fear paralyzes you while faith empowers you; fear disheartens you while faith encourages you; fear sickens you while faith heals you; fear makes you useless while faith makes you serviceable. So, what spirit are you listening to, my friend? The Spirit of the Lord that tells you ‘do not be afraid… I am with you… follow me… I will never leave you nor forsaken you, even when there are storms’ OR are you listening to the spirit of fear that Satan uses to keep you away from the Word of God, from church or anything that will help you acquire enough knowledge to be set free from sin? Yes, following Jesus does not guarantee us as individuals or as a church a storm-free life. Following Jesus may take us into encounters with the worst pain and greatest suffering of the world… but the Lord is telling us one thing: He did not give us the spirit of fear. Therefore, know that you are well equipped against the wickedness and adversity of the world. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
