TODAY’S MEDITATION – What rights do you have before the Lord? (Philippians 2:6-8)

Very often, people excuse their selfishness, pride, evil or refusal to submit to the Word by claiming their rights: some think, it is their lawful rights to spend all the money they earn because they worked hard to get it ; others think they have the right to abort because they have the right to control their body; some even find it right to cheat on a test because they deserve to pass a class… My brother, my sister, the Bible says ” The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalm 24:1). So, what right do you have before God? He is the one who created you and gave you all you have! Today’s verses talk about Jesus, “who, being in very nature God,did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross!” You see as believers, we should follow His example, displaying a different attitude by laying aside our rights in order to serves others. If you say you follow Christ, you must also strive to live as He lived. The first step to follow Him is developing an attitude of humility as you serve, even when you are not likely to to get the recognition of your efforts. Indeed, as long as you are clinging to your rights, your are selfishly working for your interests, because serving the others is a willing sacrifice to give your time, your money, giving all you have or all you are for the interests of the others. So, as a believer, think about yourself today and see where you stand! Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
