TODAY’S MEDITATION – What has today’s church done with the message of Christ? (John 12:48)

Today’s passage says this: There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day.
My brother, my sister, do you know what Jesus’ mission on earth was? Today, the body of Christ has shown a different angle to what Jesus truly introduced. Let’s first look at the first Christians: they preached the resurrected Christ and reminded people that the Lord is returning soon so that people will make sure their lives are in line with the message of Christ. Nowadays, the believers of Christ know that the Word of God does not change in time, therefore we should know that the message and the mission of Christ have not changed. But why is it that the message of Christ seems to be scarce in many churches, where only people’s well-being has become the main focus. Let’s recall that the mission Christ gave the church is clearly stated in the great commission (Matthew 28:16-20). And when we read this, we should wonder what the Church has done with Christ’s message.
My friend, don’t be taken by surprise: read the Word of God yourself, especially if you are in a church that only preaches about blessings or your wellbeing. The fact is, God will not bless you in the future. He has already blessed you when Jesus was sacrificed to get back everything the devil has stolen from the children of God. Nowadays, Satan has distracted the believers of Christ by making them run after what they already possess instead of focusing on Jesus and everything teaching that is related to their salvation and eternal life: “what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36). You can have all the blessings you want in this world but lose your entry to eternal rest just because you decided to live the way that pleases you. My friend, you see, the purpose of Jesus’ first mission on earth was not to judge people, but to show them the way to find salvation and eternal life. This is the message the body of Christ should preach and keep preaching until the Lord comes back, for, when He returns, one of His main purposes will be to judge people for how they lived on earth. Let’s make it clear: Christ’s words that we don’t want to accept and obey will condemn us. So decide now to follow Christ for Christ’s sake and not only for your own well-being, for the consequences of your decision last forever. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
