TODAY’S MEDITATION – “To the pure, all things are pure” (Titus 1:15).

My brother, my sister, if you want to know if you are pure or not, you don’t need to ask anyone. In the light of the Word of God, observe your own actions and reactions, listen to the way you talk and pay attention to what catches your eye! It’s simple. A pure person is whoever has allowed Jesus to change him/her from within through His Word and to take control of his/her life! Today’s verse says: “To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.” My brother, my sister, the Bible also says that it is what is in your heart that your mouth says: “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of” (Luke 6:45). And we know that “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). You see, some people see only good around them, while others see nothing but evil. What is the difference? My friend, your soul filters through what you perceive as good or evil. In other words, depending on the disposition of your heart, when you are pure what you say will be pure. You see, the pure learn to see goodness and purity even in this evil world. Are they born with this ability? Not necessarily, but they learn to see only goodness in people and in things, which means all of us can do the same as we follow Christ our master and example of perfection! On the other hand, corrupt and unbelieving people find evil in everything because their evil minds and hearts always tend to colour even the good they see and hear. My friend, whatever YOU CHOOSE to feed your mind with can affect the way you think and act. That is the reason why it is important for believers to turn their thoughts to Jesus and His Word in order to understand what His goodness really means. Yes, a mind filled with good has little room for what is evil, no matter its form. Besides, the Bible says “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -think about such things” (Philippians 4:8).
