TODAY’S MEDITATION – Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God (Romans 8:14)

The Bible clearly says there is a difference between the children of God and the children of the devil. Why? Because there are only two realities: heaven (the Kingdom of God) and hell (the kindgom of the king of this world)… there is no middle or neutral kingdom. Therefore, if we do not belong to one, we belong to the other. Now, the same Bible tells us that “the reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister” (1 John 3:8-9).

Nowadays, it is so common to hear or see many believers who seem to take their Christianity for granted… and most of those go to church ONLY for signs and wonders… Ask them to look for a Bible verse, that is in the New Testament, they will start opening the table of content of the Bible… Yet you will see them sitting at the front row of their church every Sunday. My brother, my sister, we are clearly warned that “the coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12). In other words, if you don’t love the truth (Jesus) but you love His wonders, you are not saved. It is therefore important to ask yourself this question: ‘why am I going to church? Why am I serving God?’

You see, when the Bible speaks of pagans, it speaks of those of us who pretend to love Christ while our lives do not follow the rules of God. Don’t think that being a pagan is only worshiping trees, animals, or rocks… it is also indulging in worldly delights and material possessions, worshiping created things rather than the Creator! Has your work become your god? Have your children become your god? Have your problems become your god? Do you meditate the Word day and night (Joshua 1:8) or your pastor does it for you to swallow every Sunday mornings or during Bible studies? Just think about yourself for a minute and check what you talk about the most in a day… it can help you understand what you are focusing on! Be very careful, my friend: is your love for God is turned towards His blessings rather than towards Him?

Calling yourself a Christian does not make you a Christian before Christ; going to Church does not make you a Christian before Christ… But living a Christlike life is what makes you a Christian before our Lord who He says “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me” (John 10:14) and “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). Does Jesus knows you? My friend, if He knows you, you should also know Him and you should live a life of obedience to His teachings as you are led by the Spirit of God to lead a life pleasing our Lord… Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
