TODAY’S MEDITATION – There will always be someone there who thinks to be wiser than you (Job 17:10)

This passage of Job says “But come on, all of you, try again! I will not find a wise man among you”. Here, Job is talking with three of his friends who had a reputation for being wise. But Job could not find wisdom in any of them, and what is interesting is that the Lord backed up Job’s claim for their false portrayal of Him: “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has” (Job 42:7). My brother, my sister, not everyone has true wisdom. You see, these men assumed that because they were prosperous and successful, God was pleased with their way of living and thinking. However, Job told them that earthly success and prosperity are not a reward for faith in God, and likewise, trouble and affliction do not prove faithlessness. It is common to hear people saying “I am blessed with this or that” when they see success in their lives. My friend, that does not prove they are more godly or wiser than you! The truly wise man knows that wisdom comes from God alone, not from human successes or failures. The same, the truly wise man never forsakes the Lord. Therefore, do not allow any human being to sell their wisdom to you. Here God’s wisdom proved to be superior to Job’s and his friends’. It is the same for us today. Do not rest on your own intelligence or wisdom. Seek God’s wisdom by meditating on His Word, listening to Him for guidance and encouragement during your prayer time, obeying His principles, observing His faithfulness while claiming His promises as you read His Word, and associating with people who can lift your faith in the Lord up, not undermine it. My friend, God loves you, you don’t need to worry about your future or look for a “wise man’s” advise around you. The Lord has a plan, not only for your life, but also for every problem you may face. Today, take the time to renew your trust in Him believing in His ability to give you the wisdom you need to get on in life and get out of your unwanted circumstances. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
