God sent Jesus to die on the cross for all of us, without exception. Yet, He has also given us the choice between life or death. Therefore, whoever lives in obedience to God’s principle has to make a huge difference in this world, because God will spare him/her as His own treasure (verse 17). My brother, my sister, you are saved once you believe in and truly accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Yet, it is your love, your fear, your honour and your respect of the Lord that will enable you to get to the final line. Yes, God’s special treasure is the one who shows Himself faithful to Him, for He fulfills the promise made to His people: “Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine” (Exodus 19:5). My friend, never forget that, as a believer, you are God’s very own possession: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9). Therefore, commit your life to Him for safekeeping so that a difference can be seen between you who are serving God and the others who are not (verse 18). Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
