Many unbelievers react negatively to the fact that there is no other name than that of Jesus to call on for salvation. Yet, this is not something the church decided. My brother, my sister, you certainly believe that Christ is the only way to be saved, but do you also behave based on your belief? Jesus Himself taught us that this: ““I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Now, if God designated Jesus to be the Saviour of the world, no one else can be his equal. And the main problem for Christians is that they are open-minded and joyfully or willingly receive many teachings of Christ but not on how to be saved from sin, which is why Jesus offered us salvation in the first place. Yes, many want to get to heaven, but few are doing what it takes to get there; many believers know the theory of the Word, but few practice it. Indeed, “many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14)
Another problem is that many believers remain the masters of their own lives, instead of allowing Jesus to become their Master. Of course, they praise and worship Him wholeheartedly, they seem to do everything right, except for abandoning the commands of their lives to the only one who knows the right way. This is because idolatry is secretly rooted in them. Now, let’s understand that idolatry is “the worship of idols or excessive devotion to, or reverence for some person or thing. An idol is anything that replaces the one, true God.” That is the reason why, when such a person is not excessively devoted to self, they want to be devoted to a human being (pastor, etc.).
My friend, no one could die for your sins, but Jesus, because God had decided so. Today’s verse says: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Only Christ came to earth as God’s son and from the dead. Therefore every believer’s focus should be on Jesus, whom God provided as the way to have an eternal relationship with Himself. There is no other name, there is no other way. If you truly believe in Jesus and devote yourself to Him, then you must also align your ways to His principles to enjoy the joy of His salvation and be granted a willing Spirit that will sustain you (Psalm 51:12). Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
