TODAY’S MEDITATION – The Word of God sets you free when you invest in it (Acts 17:11)

Many believers today go to church, attend seminars and convention… but don’t read the Bible, except during that time. My brother, my sister, the Bible says: “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do” (Joshua 1:8). You see, Apostle Paul preached to the people of Berea and “they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true” (Acts 17:11). Now, let me ask you a question: how do you evaluate the sermons, teachings, preachings that you hear? My friend, the people of Berea searched the Scriptures for themselves to verify the message they heard. It is important for a Christian to seek maturity to be able to access the next level God has planned for his/her life. What God gave you as a spiritual baby cannot take you to where He wants you to be if you yourself do not invest to become a spiritual adult. And the only way to do so is by studying and meditating His Word, not only by being fed by your pastor or anyone else. The same as a child learns to hold the spoon to eat alone, you need to start using your Bible to feed yourself and learn from God by yourself, because there are things He wants to reveal to you directly, there are things your teacher or preacher might not have been revealed that concern you in the very message you heard them preach. Besides, getting used to search the Scriptures by yourself will avoid you from swallowing false messages or anything that contradicts the Lord’s true message. I recently saw pictures of a South African pastor who asked his congregation to eat grass to get closer to God. NO COMMENT! Has any of the members who did this read the Scriptures, they could have known the truth! My friend, the Lord said you will know the truth and it will set you free (John 8:32). You need to access the truth by yourself… through the Word of God. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
