TODAY’S MEDITATION – The Word of God is meant to transform you (Hebrews 4:12)

Today, many believers misuse the Word of God, trying to justify themselves or to judge the others. My brother, my sister, the Word of God is meant to transform you as the Lord touches you. You know, the greatest threat to the Bible is not what an unbelievers think about it, it is believers who don’t live close enough to God’s Word for it to perform its purpose in their lives. Today’s verse says: “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” My friend, it’s within you that the Word is meant to penerate, within your soul and spirit, joints and marrow to judge your own thoughts and the attitudes of your heart. When you place yourself as an observer who uses the Word to ‘teach’ people on their convictons, their attitudes of heart or their thoughts… you have not understood that this is not your part! Give people the Word, but let the Word ‘teach’ them instead… For, it is alive and active. The Lord does not need you to teach on His behalf… He wants you to present Him and to let Him do the rest. Yes, through His Spirit, the Lord “will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment” (John 16:8). Let’s bear in mind that the Word is eternal (Psalm 119:89-91); it accomplishes the purpose for which it was sent (Isaiah 55:11); it helps us discern our spiritual condition through our thoughts, attitudes or actions; it holds us accountable and we will all stand before the Lord to say what we have done on this earth (Romans 3:19); and most important for our daily life, the Word of God requires our interaction. The Bible “Today if, you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts” (Hebrews 4:7) and says “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says” (James 1:22). My friend, the Word of God is your mirror… it has to show your own reflection, not someone else’s. And when you see your own image in front of this mirror, open your heart for the Lord to make the necessary transformation you need… then He will also be able to take you where you are meant to be, where He wants you to be. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
