TODAY’S MEDITATION – The Word of God is alive and powerful (Hebrews 4:12)

[three_fourth_last] “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart”. This is what today’s verses says. My brother, my sister, what have you done of the Word of God? Do you read the Bible as if you are reading just another book? Do you read the Bible, just because you must read it? How do you read the Bible. I remember how I used to fight against sleep whenever I wanted to start reading the Bible, then one day, I determined to force myself to read it, bits by bits, and not only to read, but to read it actively. You see, the Word of God is not just simply a collection of words from God. It is living, life-changing and dynamic as it works in us. Now, for it to work in you, we need to believe that is alive and powerful and set our hearts to take it as it comes. What is weird with many believers is that they take the grace we are given by God through Jesus for granted, but they do not take the Word of God for granted. If there is something that should be taken for granted, my friend, it is the Word of God, because it has the power to reveal who we are and who we are not, it can penetrate the core of your moral values and your spiritual life to change you and your life; it discerns what is within us, both good and evil, that is why the Word of God should not be listened to just like we listen to music: we must let the Word of God shape us and help us become a bit more like Christ. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
