TODAY’S MEDITATION – The powerful of this world are not what they appear to be (Psalm 62:9-12)

Today’s world promotes power, wealth or prestige as the ultimate goal we should achieve in our lives. That is why so many people, including Christians feel so frustrated with their lives or their jobs and tend to think that those worldly standards would change anything for them to be happy. My brother, my sister, if you feel unhappy with what you have today, it means you have an ungrateful heart. Yes, it is very tempting for us to believe that honour, power, wealth or prestige can really get us ahead in life. But, the Lord’s scales does not measure our happiness or success in life based on such things: on God’s scales, “Surely the lowborn are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie. If weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath” (Psalm 62:9-12). My friend, what, then, can tilt the scales when God weigh us? You see, trusting the Lord and working for Him is the only thing that will actually bring you power, honour, prestige and wealth, for power belongs to God and He rewards everyone according to what they have done (verse 12). Yes, any worldly standard will never add anything to your value in God’s eyes. Only the faithful work you do for Him has eternal value. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
