Today, many believers are heading to church services with many different reasons in their hearts. Some just want to fellowship with one another, others are expecting the Lord’s special touch, others expect an answer to their prayers, others want to share a testimony. My brother, my sister, most reasons why we go to church revolve around ourselves. Today, why don’t you take a time to reflect on Jesus alone, to meditate on what happened on the cross! My friend, have you ever truly realized what Jesus suffered on the cross? Do you really understand what the cross means to you today? The fact is, many believers have not yet died to their sins, but attend the church of Christ hoping to experience Him fully. My friend, do you realize what the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross did for you? Let me recall you a few of the things you have graciously received through the cross: your sin was taken away (Hebrews 9:26); you were redeemed from the empty way of life inherited from Adam and Eve (1 Peter 1:18-19); you were given access to forgiveness and reconciliation with God (Ephesians 2:13); you were cleansed from all the effects of sin (1 John 1:7); you were sanctified (Hebrews 10:19). Yes, today realize what Jesus has done for you and therefore accept to die to yourself (Galatians 2:20) to let the cross take all its meaning in your life. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
