TODAY’S MEDITATION – Stop worrying, but rejoice in the Lord always (Philippians 4:4-9)

This is a message from Apostle Paul, while in prison. Isn’t it strange to hear someone who is in prison asking his fellow believers to rejoice always? My brother, my sister, Paul’s attitude teaches us an important lesson: our inner attitude do not have to reflect our outward circumstances. You see, Paul was full of joy because he knew that no matter what happened to him, Jesus Christ was with him. It is so easy to get discouraged by unpleasant or unwanted circumstances or even to take unimportant events too seriously. My friend, if you have not been joyful lately, you may not be looking at life from the right perspective, that of our Lord who brings life where there is death and hope where there is despair. And maybe you need to be reminded that ultimate joy comes from Christ dwelling within you. Yes, Christ’s return is near and we will fully realise this ultimate joy at his second coming. Not worrying but rejoicing should not seem impossible to you who believe in Him. My friend, do you want to worry less? Then turn your worries into prayers. Yes, pray more and rejoice in the Lord who started a good work in you. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
