TODAY’S MEDITATION – Stand firm in your faith (Matthew 15:21-28)

In this passage, we see a gentile woman coming to Jesus. At first, when she asks Jesus to help her with her demon-possessed daughter, the Bible says “Jesus did not answer a word” (verse 23). Then the disciples stepped in asking Jesus to send her away because they were bothered by her cries: “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us” (verse 23). My brother, my sister, today know that the Lord’s silence to your situation does not mean He is does not hear you, for if the disciples were annoyed by her cries, then Jesus could also hear them! Look, now that despite being put off by the disciples, this woman did not leave! And even when tested by the Lord (verses 26-27), she remain firm in what she believed: HE CAN HELP ME! How many of us just give up when we don’t immediately see answers to our cries? Now, let’s read the Scripture to understand today’s lesson: “The woman came and knelt before him. ‘Lord, help me!’ she said. He replied, ‘It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.’ ‘Yes it is, Lord,’ she said. ‘Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.’Then Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.’ And her daughter was healed at that moment.” (verses 25-28). Yes, my friend, it does not matter if you have not seen answers to your prayer with your own eyes, as long as you are persistent you will receive from the Lord! When you truly believe that Jesus can help you in that unwanted situation, stick to your believe no matter what the circumstances or people say. This woman was not on Jesus’ scheduled, but her unwavering faith urged the answer to her prayer. Let’s learn to believe in Christ Jesus, not only with our mouth but with all our hearts and souls! Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
