TODAY’S MEDITATION – Seek the source of your blessings (Acts 7:34)

My brother, my sister, imagine that you go to the dentist and the secretary who takes information for you for the dentist starts prescribing you medication. What would your reaction be? I am pretty sure you would say ”no, I’ll wait to meet the dentist’. And you will be absolutely right! Well, many people go to church to meet God’s servants, but they are not patient enough to wait to meet Jesus, sometimes they do not even have the desire to do so (what is done says more about what we say!). Go to some African countries to observe that sometimes the doctor arrives at the hospital so late that the situation of people often end up worse. But know that Jesus is never late. Even for Lazarus who had died for several days, Jesus was not late (John 11: 38-44). If you have not yet met Jesus, it is simply because you might be too impatient and you would rather take the secretary’s medication rather than wait for you to meet the Lord. But because the secretary is not specialized in healing, deliverance, restoration or protection, that’s why your teeth may still aching!… For the medication that the secretary gives you to work they still have to come from the dentist himself anyway!

What have you asked Jesus to heal or restore in your life? The Bible says: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free” (Luke 4:18). My friend, God has seen the oppression and the groaning of His people and He came down to us through Jesus, to set us free from all that (Acts 7:34). Accepting Jesus is not only confessing that He is our Lord and Saviour, it is also making the decision to follow Him to be able to enjoy this freedom that sets us free from sickness, curses, sin, etc. Where the Spirit of the Lord truly dwells, oppression cannot remain… Certainly oppression will try, but it will always be defeated in your life because of Jesus.

Today, seek Jesus will all your heart, all your mind and all your soul to be set free and be freed indeed, for “if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36). Stop looking for servants of God for healing or deliverance… they are there only to point you to Jesus, just like a secretary is there to take your detailsto direct you to the dentist. Jesus is the healer you need much more than the medication that could relieve you for some time; He is the protector you need much more than a formula for protection, He is the deliverer you need much more than a prayer for deliverance… Jesus is all that and much more, He is the life! Whatever is dead in your life will resuscitate today as you commit to find Jesus. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
