TODAY’S MEDITATION – Preparation for the Pentecost (Acts 1:4)

My brother, my sister, this week must be a time of your preparation to celebrate the day God poured out His Spirit on every person who was around the disciples of Christ who had been preparing to receive what Jesus had promised.
The Day of Pentecost must be prepared. But how? In WAITING! In EXPECTATION! In total OBEDIENCE and in HOPE that something will happen as the Lord promised.
Today’s passage reminds us that Jesus had told the disciples: “On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.”
So, allow me to remind you to start waiting! The promised Holy Spirit has indeed dwelled in you since you accepted Jesus Christ… but this time should be a time you are preparing for a fresh infill of the Spirit or a time you a waiting in hope to be baptised: “For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit” (Acts 1:5).
My friend, Jesus asked the disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit. Let’s imagine how a difficult time this was for them after His ascension, to wait those 10 days in PRAYER, ALTOGETHER. They were a bunch of scared, failed people. Yet they obeyed Him and waited for the Holy Spirit. So, no matter your situation today, wait… be prepared for the Pentecost.
Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
