TODAY’S MEDITATION – Peace and righteousness come as we obey (Isaiah 48:17-18)

God is Love. If we want to illustrate this love for our human understanding, we can say that, like any loving parent, God teaches us and guides us. And like any loving parent, He will also test us and correct us. My brother, my sister, you should learn to listen to the Lord because peace and righteousness come to you as you obey His Word. It is common to see, in our societies today, many children who are learning about life the hard way, just because they lacked obedience or refused to listen to their loving parents. The same, refusing to pay attention to God’s commands invites punishment and threatens your peace and righteousness. He says it clearly in this verses: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go” (verse 17). So, my friend, why would you ignore the teachings that redeem you? Moreover, why would you reject teachings that will give you peace and well-being in all areas of your life? (verse 18). We should understand, as believers, that it is the distance we are taking with the Lord through our disobedience, rebellions, or sin that are causing us to remain far from His loving cover. The Lord is so faithful and wants us to be happy, because the plans He has had for us are plans of happiness… The only way for you to get to reach Him is of course through Jesus who gave all on the cross for you, but also through your sincere relationship with “your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.” Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
