TODAY’S MEDITATION – Only in God are you truly safe and secure (2 Samuel 5:6-7)

When David and his men went to fight against the Jebusites who had a clear military advantage over them, the Jebusites boasted of their security, thinking they were safe due to the impregnable walls of Zion. But they soon discovered that these walls would not protect them as David caught them by surprise by entering the city through the water tunnel. My brother, my sister, nothing in this world and in this life can provide you with security. Whether you are surrounded by mighty walls of stone, a comfortable home, a secure job, no one can predict what tomorrow may bring. However, it is only in God that you can truly be safe and secure, because your relationship with Him is the only security that cannot be taken away from you. And, as you cherish this relationship and obey Him, He will always stand to fight your battles and protect you, for He is telling you that “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you […]. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you” (2 Chronicles 20:17). Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
