TODAY’S MEDITATION – Living the good life (Deuteronomy 8:3)

This same verse was quoted by Jesus when the devil tempted Him to turn stones into bread (Matthew 4:4). Many people, including Christians, think that life is based on satisfying their appetites. If they can earn enough money to dress, eat, and play in high style, then they think they are living what the world calls “the good life”. However, many have lost theirs lives living the good life… But the Word of God tells us that such things will never satisfy our deepest longings. That is why it is common to see or hear about people who have material possessions, yet feel empty and dissatisfied. My brother, my sister, real life, according to the Word of God, comes from total commitment to God and living by every word that comes from Him. How can we live by His word, you may wonder now. Just by recognizing our daily need for it, exactly as you recognize that you need food to sustain your body. It is therefore very important for you to agree that God alone can truly satisfy you. My friends, good life is when you indeed savour the relationship you have with God through Christ and practice what He teaches you, because then you really enjoy His presence daily, receive His wisdom and direction to do what you’re called to do. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
