TODAY’S MEDITATION – Joy is found in serving Christ (John 4:35-38)

Some people think that they are unqualified to do the work of God, because they limit the work of God to the pulpit and prophecy. My brother, my sister, we all (including unbelievers) are all on earth to fulfill God’s plan and fit in His purposes. If you don’t want to do what God has called you to do, He will ask someone else. The Lord does not disqualify anyone from working for Him… in the contrary, He wants all to serve so we can enjoy the joy that is found in working for Him.

Now, many believers excuse themselves from witnessing by saying that their family and friends are not ready to believe. Today’s passage says: “But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest… I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.”

My friend, Jesus makes it clear that around us a continual harvest waist to be reaped. If many Christians would stop making excuses but rather be willing to do work of God, then the Lord could lead their steps to the right directions. My friend, don’t let Jesus find you making excuses. Look around, you will find people ready to hear God’s Word. Telling them what you know of Jesus is working for the Kingdom of God, and for that, you do not need a title or a position except for that of being a child of God, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. That’s our Father’s will and as this passage also shows us Jesus offers planters and harvesters the wages of seeing many new believers come into His Kingdom. How many people are in search of joy? Why don’t you look for the joy Jesus offers when we serve Him first? Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
