TODAY’S MEDITATION – Jesus knows our hearts (John 2:23-25)

Sometimes, we forget this key truth: the Son of God knows all about human nature. Yes, Jesus is well aware of this truth: “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9). Today’s passage shows us that Jesus knows whose faith is superficial and whose faith is genuine: “Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name.[a] But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.” My brother, my sister, this is a powerful truth that should make each one of us reflect and meditate: Jesus does not trust the believers who trust in Him because of the miraculous signs He does! (verse 23-24).

Jesus discerns and knows our individual faith. My friend, some of the same people claiming to believe in Jesus at this very time would later yell “Crucify Him!” Yes, it’s easy to believe when things are exciting and everyone else believes the same way. But what does your faith say about you? My friend, keep your faith firm even when it isn’t popular to follow Jesus, even if nobody understands you. Jesus is looking for people who trust in Him and believe in Him without seeing. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
