Today’s verse says: “Anyone who is among the living has hope –even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!” What does this mean for us who believe in Jesus Christ today, especially on the day we celebrate His resurrection? My brother, my sister, while you are counted among the living, there is hope, and that hope is found in Jesus alone, for He is the only one who offers us eternal life.
You see today’s verse is telling us that after death we can not change anything from our past. The Resurrection is not a new concept for us who believe in Christ. So today, leave your past life in the tomb, and rise up in life with Christ… The life, death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus gave us new life, new hope, a new identity. Accept to change now by accepting Him. Many people say they have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, but they have done so only with their mouth, and sometimes with half their heart. But they have not yet accepted Him with all they represent!
Jesus is alive, my friend. This is a reality that offers you much more than you can imagine! You see, man can offer you things… but these things are temporary, perishable and you will never be satisfied. Peter understood this and this is what he taught us: “Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk” (Acts 3:6)… this was Peter’s answer to a beggar who asked him for money. But Peter had Jesus! My friend, what do you ask the Lord for right now? Open your heart and receive it from Him. He is alive and ready to give you His forgiveness, His peace, life for free…. and all this in abundance. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
