TODAY’S MEDITATION – “It is by your own faith that you stand firm” ( 2 Corinthians 1:24)

Many times we see believers whose faith rest on the faith of others. Let me clarify this point: someone has a problem; instead of praying the Lord who has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness (Colossians 1:13) and given us victory through the Cross, they believe that the faith of their pastor, an intercessor, or other Christians can help them through their problem. My brother, my sister, Jesus showed us many times that it is OUR OWN FAITH that will trigger the miracle we are expecting. He said to the blind man: “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road” (Mark 10:52) ; He told the bleeding woman “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering” (Mark 5:34). My friends, standing firm is not a way to be saved, but the evidence that we are really committed and that we believe in Jesus. Jesus told His followers that they would be persecuted by those who hated what they stood for. Therefore, in the midst of persecution, suffering, sickness, and everything that is trying to undermine our faith, as Christians, we should continue to hope and set our eyes on Him alone, knowing that deliverance from evil and victory are ours. You see, times of trial serve to sift true Christians from false or fair-weather Christians. Do you stop believing Jesus can do something for you when you suffer in your flesh and you think that only the hands or prayers of your pastor or another Christian can bring you comfort? If so, then what is the role of the comforter Jesus left you with who dwells in you? So many Christians give up the fight too quickly or rest their faith on others too quickly. But we should always bear in mind that the prayers of the others cannot have effect on us if we do not have faith ourselves… Without putting aside the sovereign will of God who can heal, restore and make your life a living testimony as it pleases Him, whether you believe or not, for He is a loving father who does not want to see any of His children suffer… we need to always remember that it is our own faith, not the prayers of others alone, that trigger’s our miracles… Anyway, it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6)… So, whatever is your heart desire today, trigger it in faith and have no more doubt about what the Lord is capable in your life. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
