The foundation of the church of all believers is Jesus. This sad truth tend to be forgotten in many churches today, as people go to church for the pastor, or for personal needs to be fulfilled, instead of seeking the Lord, the genuine foundation of the church. My brother, my sister, let no one tell you they have something to do with your life or your faith! Let’s clarify this. Today’s verse says: “By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” In other words, Paul is telling us that each of us have to become careful builders, led by the Word of God. Why? Because, the risk of having a building without foundation is there, the risk of being poorly constructed is there. Yes, if you don’t strive to have a personal relationship with the Lord, my friend, your life and faith as a Christian will remain shallow. Unfortunately, many believers in search of wealth, success, security or fame build their life and faith on faulty foundations. However, if the foundation of your life and faith is in Jesus Christ, then your life and faith are resting on a solid ground. And, as you make Jesus your base, your reason for being, everything you are and do must also fit into the pattern provided by Him. My friend, how are you building your life? Are you building it with perishable materials that can rot anytime or are you building it with Bible-based wisdom? Whatever foundation you choose will determine how you live on this earth and how you will live after this earth. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
