This morning, let’s stop on the account of the birth of Jesus to a virgin to remind ourselves that the Bible is not a debatable tool. It’s the Word of God, and everything written was breathed by God Himself. Yes, my brother, my sister, if it is written, then it’s true! You see, the Bible says faith come by hearing. How? We can understand it by watching Luke’s reaction and actions. this man was a medical doctor, and he perfectly knew how babies are made. So, we can imagine how hard it could have been for him to believe in a virgin birth as it is sometimes for many of us to believe in all the things the Bible says! We also know that Luke was a painstaking researcher who based his Gospel on eyewitness accounts too, and we believe he certainly met Mary to record her story (Luke 1:34). Therefore, as a Christians, we should have no doubts that God has the power to do impossible things in our lives as He was able to create a child in a virgin’s womb. Let’s go further on this: in the past, the Bible was read and known only by servants of God. today, most believers read it; The problem is that many believers have no revelation about what they read, yet they start debates over some Bible principles, doctrines, etc. Instead, why not just make researches like Luke? My friend, Apostle Paul sums up this in a few words: “fight the good fight of faith” (1 Timothy 6:11-13). He also warned us: ” For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear” (2 Timothy 4:3). Today, let’s understand that doctrinal issues have not started today! Even some disciples did not accept apostle Paul’s ministry. Did that stop Paul from becoming the great man of God he eventually became? The Bible is not a debatable tool. It’s God’s guidelines for us to live a happy and prosperous life on earth while preparing our life after this life. My friend, if you tend to open debates within yourself or with others over doctrinal issues every time you hear your pastor preach or whenever you read the Bible, then check that the devil is not using you to try and write a new book in ‘your’ Bible… because faith, not doubt or confusion, “comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (Romans 10:17), and God cannot reveal anything to a mind that is doubtful or confused about His Word anyway. It is written, so it is true that “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). So submit to God’s Word. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
