When you have dirty hands and you wash them, the result is immediately visible. Now, when you turn from sins through repentance, it happens inside of you with a cleansing that isn’t seen right away. My brother, my sister, hear the Lord’s call for you today: ” if My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). The sad truth is that many people say I have repented. However, nothing shows they have in their attitude or behaviour. My friend, turning from sins implies a change of behaviour, turning from what we do that is not pleasing to God! Have you turned from sin in your life? Can others see the difference it makes in you? Saying you have repented is not enough: a changed life with new and different behaviour makes your repentance real and visible. My friend, no laying hands or prayer from a man can restore you if you do not do what the Word is telling you to do. Yes, there is no secret to your physical or spiritual restoration: “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” (Acts 3:19).
