TODAY’S MEDITATION – How is your purpose in life? (Matthew 22:36-40)

This world is showing its limits day after day as people walk around without knowing where they are going and what they are supposed to do. My brother, my sister, ask any successful business person how they started. You will hear that they had a plan, a purpose… and they have used means to reach the targets that would allow them to accomplish their purposes. This through is valid in our Christian walk, if we want it to be successful, in other words if we want to live and experience the promises of God in the land of the living.

The truth is, our purpose in this life has been designed by our Creator. It is simple: we are meant to be a reflection of God’s love in everything we do, so that we can draw others to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. My friend, if you still don’t know your purpose, remember this: when the disciples asked Jesus what is the greatest commandment, Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love the Lord thy God with all your heart, soul, and strength. And the second is similar to it, to love your neighbour as yourself.

You see, these two commandments fulfil the entire essence of who God is and His message to us who say we love Him or follow Jesus. Our purpose embraces loving God by abiding in Christ and becoming one with Him in Spirit and in truth. After that, we are to express God’s love in us to others by being a reflection of the kingdom of God. In other words, knowing and fitting your purpose in life to God’s will is what will lead you to success in this life, for it is not by might, nor by power but by the Holy Spirit. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
