TODAY’S MEDITATION – How do you feel about your possessions (Acts 4:32)

Today’s passage says this: ” All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had”.

Nowadays, believers share only the crumbs of what they have left. Today’s passage tells us that none of these Christians felt that what they had was their own, so they were able to give and share, eliminating poverty among them. My brother, my sister, what is your attitude towards your possession, and towards sharing what you have?

Most ofter we behave as if we own what we have. Instead, we should learn not to let a brother or sister suffer when we have plenty. We should adopt the attitude that everything we have comes from God, and we are only sharing what is already His. You see, the early church was able to share possessions and property as a result of the unity brought by the Holy Spirit working in an through the believers’ lives. This should make us all reflect about the way we give: if the Holy Spirit is truly working the will of God in your life, you should not be afraid of giving, sharing… because He will convince you that what you are giving comes from God and you cannot lack. If therefore, your attitude is more afraid of lacking after giving, my friend, you have a serious matter to address with the Spirit of God in you… if He is in you at all. Why? Because God has not given us the spirit of fear… whatever we are afraid of kills our faith and inevitably, the devil has made more progress in our mind than the Spirit of God trying to renew it. Let’s review our attitude towards what we possess or have: our marriage, our children, our houses, our cars, our works… all that are gifts of God, for “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights” (James 1:17). Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
