TODAY’S MEDITATION – How do you express your love to Jesus daily? (Luke 8:19-21)

Every believer likes to call themselves a Christian once accepting Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour. My friend, it is not everyone who enters your family that belongs to your family: through marriage, some people will belong to your family; through deep friendship, some people will belong to your family… but many others will never be considered to be members of your family for different reasons. Here, the Bible shows us that Jesus has describes how and who we can be counted among the members of His family: “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.” This is hard to hear when we know that most of us hear the Word of God, but we pick and choose what we want to put into practice. My brother, my sister, what we need to do to please God is not limited on the Ten Commandments alone… Anyway, if you think you are already following the Ten Commandments, it makes you a righteous person only to your own eyes. Belonging to Jesus’ family requires obedience, sacrifice and endurance because the race to the end is very long. Yes, hearing the Word without obeying it is not enough! Saying you love Jesus without obeying Him is not enough! If you really love Him, start respecting the simple command of fellow-shipping with your fellow brothers in Christ without getting tired or using your work, your family, your studies as an excuse… Those who have truly loved want to do anything they can to please the one they love. You see, Jesus loved His mother (John 19:25-27), but He loved you even more so much that He prayed up to sweating blood for you and He continues to intercede for you at the right and of the Father after giving His life for you. Now, how do you express your love to Jesus on a daily basis as a member of His family? My friend, Christ offers you an intimate family relationship with Him (Romans 8:14-16), so ensure you do not neglect Him. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
