Many believers say they have faith in the Lord Jesus, they love Him.. yet their faith is stagnant or does not grow in a manner that brings transformation in their lives. My brother, my sister, let me remind you that Jesus said: “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20), and He also said people worry too much about the things of the world like pagans because they have little faith (Matthew 6:25-34). So, why is it that your mind is still lying to you about your situation? Why is it your life is still looking the same? The answer to this question is simple. Receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour should be receiving Him as the Lord of your earthly life too. Let’s clarify this: Many people accept the fact that Jesus can save them from eternal life and trust Him entirely for that. Yet, they have not given Him total trust as regards their health, their problems, their desires. Now, today’s passage says this: “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Read carefully: “strengthened in faith as you were taught”! What were you taught? How were you taught? Some believers spend years and years in a church in search of deliverance while actually stagnating spiritually… and their faith will never grow as they do not learn! Because it is thanks to your knowledge of Christ that your faith grows… And it is your faith that saves you, heals you and delivers you. So now ask yourself: ‘why I go to church?’ Of course, many will say that it is Jesus . So, ask yourself today: ‘why I am going to church?’ Of course many will say it’s FOR Jesus…But for what purpose are you looking for Him? To be healed? To be delivered? or to learn about Him? Know that you may deceive yourself or people, but Jesus reads the truth in your heart! In other words, once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, you must continue to follow His leadership by being rooted, built up and strengthened in our faith. Why? Because He wants to guide you and help you with your daily problems. So, what can you do for your faith in Him to grow stronger? You must determined to live for Christ by committing your life and submitting you will to Him (Romans 12:1-2), you must seek to learn from Him, learn about His life and teachings to imitate Him (Colossians 3:16) and finally recognize the Holy Spirit’s power in you (Acts 1:8). Now, the problem with many believers is that, they want the Spirit’s power and strength, but try to escape the necessary process of submitting their will to and learning from Christ. My friend, unless you count on magic, your faith in Christ will never become stronger in a way to have a transformed life and to be used by God to transform the life of people around you if you do not do as the Bible says!Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
