The Passover celebration is not just another celebration. Therefore, as children of God, we should prepare this celebration in style for the Lord. My brother, my sister, how are you going to celebrate the Passover?
When I was younger, my mother used to buy us new clothes to wear for Christmas service. Here, Hezekiah sent a proclamation to a few people to invite them to come to the Passover (2 Chronicles 30:1), but most responded with scorn and ridicule. Yes, people may mock you when you try to promote spiritual renewal and the growth of the Church.
My friend, are you prepared to be ridiculed for your faith? You see, many people were invited to the Passover, many among them scorned Hezekiah’s messengers, but some accepted the invitation. Stand strong in your faith, as Hezekiah did, and God will honour you. My friend, our efforts to tell others about God often meet with similar reactions. True, many people will ignore or laugh at an invitation to accept Christ, but this must not stop us from reaching out. So, if you know that rejecting the Gospel is common, you can guard against feelings of personal rejection and remember that the Holy Spirit convicts and convinces. Our task is, therefore, to invite others to come to God. My friend, don’t celebrate this Passover all alone: determine not to go to church alone and allow someone to meet the Lord by sending them an invitation and by praying for them for the Lord’s Spirit to convince them. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
