TODAY’S MEDITATION – He did it for David, He will do it for you! (Psalm 27:14)

My brother, my sister, if you are counting the number of days, weeks, months or years since you have been asking something or waiting for the Lord to answer you, you surely are waiting for Him, but are you doing it patiently? Many verses in the Bible tell us to wait PATIENTLY for the Lord, and patience is a fruit of the Spirit.

Today’s passage says this: “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord”. What should we learn from David’s words here? The fact is that he knew, from experience what it meant to wait for the Lord: he had been anointed king at the age of 16 but did not become king until he was 30… During his time of wait, he went through trials and tribulations, being chased through the wilderness by jealous King Saul. David had to wait on God for the fulfilment of His promise to reign. Later, after becoming king, he was chased by his rebellious son, Absalom.

My friend, waiting for God is not easy, especially as trials and tribulations may make the wait even more painful. And very often it seems that God is not answering our prayers or does not understand or see the urgency of our situation. My friend, that kind of thinking implies that god is not in control or that He is not fair. What have you been hoping for? Finding work, having children, marriage, healing, a breakthrough, restoration? Name it … but Know That God is worth waiting for. Reject any outside pressure of the time factor or men and hang on this Scripture: “I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!’ The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.” (Lamentations 3:24-26). From today, peace be in your heart while waiting for the Lord because the Bible also shows us many times that God uses times of waiting to refresh, renew and teach us. Make good use of your waiting times by discovering what God may be trying to teach you in them… God will glorify His name in your life, for He always keeps His promises. He did it for David, He will do it for you. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
