TODAY’S MEDITATION – Having faith in God is not limited to your prayers to God (James 2:14-26)

My brother, my sister, think about the actions you can carry to accompany your prayers, your requests or intercessions to God.
In 1 Samuel 1:9-28, we are told that Hannah wanted a child and she prayed to God. But what actions she did take?
– She was consistent in her prayer
– she did not stay home to pray but went to the temple
– She told God the child you will give me I am dedicating that child to you
Most of the time we ask God to give us things, then we start acting with those same things ask if we earned them by our own intelligence, strength, resources or means… Faith in God is not only praying to Him when we are in need but it is also trusting Him with all we have and dedicating all He gives us to Him.
We like to ask God for the things we need, then most people act like the people who make excuse in the Parable of the banquet (Luke 14:15-24). However, we cannot trick God! He knows everything: “When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.” (James 4:3).
My friends , having faith in God means that not only your interests is for the advancement of God’s kingdom but also the first motive for asking God for healing, deliverance, money, work, marriage, children, etc… is to dedicate those same things to Him… as Hannah did, to trust that all we have is His like Job, so we can say, “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him” (Job 13:15).
Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
