TODAY’S MEDITATION – God judges those who harm His children (Obadiah 1:15)

Sometimes, we don’t understand that people are persecuting, attacking or trying to undermine us because of our faith. My brother, my sister, never forget that the king of this world has blinded the eyes of those who are in the world… but you ar no longer of this world anymore since the day you accepted Christ: “If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you” (John 15:19). Yet, even when things seem hard to handle, because people are giving you a hard time, don’t ever forget that all nations and individuals will be judged for the way they have treated others, and especially believers: “And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books” (Revelation 20:12).

My friend, let’s clarify one point here: don’t think that the dead are only those who still don’t know Christ: there are many people within the Body of Christ who are still dead, and their way of living is not different from worldly people! Being a Christian is not just a label or a brand mark… Being a Christian makes you belong to God’s holy nation, His Church that embodies all those who have trusted Christ for their salvation, have given their lives to Him and have committed to live a life pleasing to Him in obedience to His teachings, service to others and self-sacrifice. What kind of a child of God are you, my friend? Read the book of Obadiah and get a glimpse of what it means to be a child of God, under His love and protection and how God, the Father, responds to all who would attack those whom He loves. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
