God works in “everything” for our good, not just for isolated incidents of our lives. My brother, my sister, God indeed works for everything to turn up good for you. So, whether a situation looks bad or not, do not worry, for the Lord is able and it is the end that matters, not the situation, not the way things look, not the present events… for the end of something is always better than it’s beginning! Today’s verse tells us that all that happens to us can be turned for our good. You see, we are living in a fallen world and evil is prevailing. Yet, the Lord is able to turn every circumstance around for our long-range good. Note that He is not working to make us happy but to fulfill His own purpose for our individual lives.The same, we should know that this purpose is not for everybody: it can be claimed only by THOSE WHO LOVE GOD and ARE CALLED BY HIM. In other words, those whom the Holy Spirit has convinced to receive Christ, for such people are also given a new perspective in life, a new mind-set. They will now trust in the Lord, not in earthly things as they realise that their security is in heaven, not on earth. And above all, their faith will not be wavering in pain and persecution because they know that in everything, the Lord is with them. Today, let’s understand what this verse really means and renew our trust in the Most High as we have the assurance that the Lord causes everything to work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to to His purpose for them.
