TODAY’S MEDITATION – God is in control of everything in your life (Acts 2:23)

Sometimes we are going through so many difficult situations that it seems that God has abandoned us, or forgotten about us. Never will the One who created you abandon you, since He promised it (Deuteronomy 31:6). My brother, my sister, today’s verse tells us that everything that happened to Jesus was under God’s control. Do you think that God loves you less than He loves Jesus? Remember that it is for you that He sent Jesus to come and die on the cross. Yes, God’s plans were never disrupted by the Roman government or the Jewish officials who thought they were punishing Jesus by killing Him. My friend, what great comfort for you today then, to know that whatever is happening in your life is in the hands of God: you may face oppression, disappointment, discouragement… you may even be threatened to be crucified! Never stop believing that everything is in the hands of God, as today’s Scripture says: “This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge.” We sometimes worry, only because we do not know what is going to happen tomorrow! Yet, the same God tells you “do not worry” (Matthew 6:25-34), because He is the One who has planned your life according to His foreknowledge and nothing can change His plans, not even the events of your life that seem to take you downward right now. He took Joseph from prison to establish Him as a leader of His people; He took David from the bush to make Him a king; He removed you from the world to give you life abundantly through Jesus… do you really think He is not aware of what you are going through right now and that He is not working in secret for things to work for your good? All He wants you to do is to set your eyes on things above (Colossians 3:2). Yes, no matter what you are going through today, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6). Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [retweet] [facebook]
