Impatience is such a plague that is really destroying the faith of many believers as it brings about deep sorrow in some and doubts in others while the Bible says nobody can please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). Yet, those who show themselves impatient will always claim they have faith! My brother, my sister, it is not about what your mouth says, it is about what you really are! May be you have stagnated spiritually because you are overwhelmed with impatience and want things to happen at the pace you have set! Today, allow me to remind you that, God has His own agenda for you, and it is not your impatience or your tears that will hasten Him! Look at Abraham: he got another son, after being impatient because the promised son was not coming. Did God give Him Isaac immediately? No! God’s agenda continued until the time set by the Lord came to pass.
You see, even the farmers must patiently wait for their crops to grow. There is nothing they can do about the process, and sometimes they even have to suffer the adversity of the weather that comes and threaten their crops. So is your faith, your Christian walk and whatever you have asked the Lord for: it can be threatened, weakened… but you still need to be patient and have faith, because the Lord will not change His calendar to respond to what you are going through on a daily basis. The same, we know that Christ will return, but we cannot make it happen any sooner. But while we wait, there is much work that we can do to advance God’s Kingdom.
Always renew your trust in the Lord and do what you need to do so that He can strengthen and restore your faith, for it is your faith that saves you, it is your faith that heals you and it is your faith that triggers the blessings of the Lord over your life. Many people fast and pray but their faith is not carrying their fasting and prayers because both are plagued with impatience and doubts, since they might have been waiting for days, months or years! Abraham waited for Isaac for more than 20 years! Well, the Bible says: “For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” (Habakkuk 2:3). My friend, may the Lord’s return sounds like an impossible event, and that’s why you are living as if He is still very far. No! Know that, before Jesus returns on earth to establish His Kingdom, He is near you, watching you, interceding for you and watching over you, and He can reveal Himself to you personally any time, so be patient and stand firm in faith. My friend, don’t live as if Christ will never come back! Work faithfully to build His Kingdom, because the King will come when the time is right. Don’t let Him come and surprise you unprepared like the ten virgins (Matthew 25), wandering (James 5:19-20), doubting (James 1:6), wavering (Hebrews 10:23)… Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
