Today’s verse says: “Further, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you.” What is interesting in this verse is that Paul points to the Word of God as our safeguard and says, he will not be tired repeating the same things (the basics of the teachings of the Lord) to the believers. My brother, my sister, are you tired reading the Word of God? Are you tired repeating the same old things about the Lord to people who seem not to understand? Are you tired listening to preachings that seem to say the same old things? Then you need to learn from Paul today. You see, the Bible is our safeguard, both morally and spiritually. A safeguard is there to protect and guard you so that you may not be extinct or perish! Now, when we read it individually and publicly in church, it alerts us on things to correct to bring our attitudes, our thoughts and our actions to the level the Lord wants us to be. If you have had the impression to always get the same message, then ask the Lord what He is trying to tell you through that message. My friend, until you get to understand what adjustment you need to make in your life, attitude, etc… you will not move to the next stage in your walk with the Lord. And in the end, you will feel as if your spiritual life has stagnated and nothing new is happening. Don’t look left or right, just check yourself in truth (by using the Word of God as your mirror) and in spirit (by allowing the Holy Spirit) to convince you of what you need to do. Don’t be tired of reading the Word, my friend, it is your safeguard in this world and for eternity. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
