TODAY’S MEDITATION – Don’t be the reason why your generation is not seeing the victory of God (Joshua 1:1-5)

Today’s verses focus on Joshua’s mission confirmed by the Lord, after Moses died: “Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them… I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses…No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” My brother, my sister, do you realise that these words were given to Joshua after 40 years in the wilderness, and after the Israelites had had an opportunity to enter the Promised Land but failed to trust God to give them victory and as a result God did not allow them to enter the land, but instead made them wander in the wilderness until the disobedient generation had all died? You see, there is one thing that is true throughout the Bible, God always chooses one person when He wants to deliver His people (Moses), to lead His people (Joshua). And He might have chosen you and wants to be the instrument He wants to use to deliver or lead your generation in the area He has placed you to be. Now, without looking at what other people do or say in their relationship with God, just think about you who already know Him: as an individual and a believer, are you walking in faith and in obedience to His Word for Him to give you victory over your enemies and allow your generation to enter the Promised Land? Why did the wilderness last 40 years? That’s enough time for the last of the older generation to die and enough time for the new generation to become adults. My friend, you may be the only one in your family to have been called by the Lord until now and others are still rebellious, get on your knees, seek the Lord’s face, obey His Word asking for His mercy so that you and your generation can see His victory in your lives today and enter the Promised Land without delay. He is faithful, loving and cares for you… Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
