TODAY’S MEDITATION – Does the level of devotion shows our love the Lord? (Ezekiel 33:30-32)

In this passage, we read that people refused to act upon Ezekiel’s message. My brother, my sister, when people mock your witness of Christ or ignore your advice, never give up. You cannot make someone accept the message of salvation. Only the Spirit can convince us. Your part is to be faithful delivering it.

Today’s passage says: “Son of man, your people talk about you in their houses and whisper about you at the doors. They say to each other, ‘Come on, let’s go hear the prophet tell us what the Lord is saying!’ So my people come pretending to be sincere and sit before you. They listen to your words, but they have no intention of doing what you say. Their mouths are full of lustful words, and their hearts seek only after money. You are very entertaining to them, like someone who sings love songs with a beautiful voice or plays fine music on an instrument. They hear what you say, but they don’t act on it!

How many go to church, seem to be serving the Lord in way that others even look and admire… while they do it with their heart turned to their own gain? Yes, how many believers listen to the message from the Lord but have no intention of putting it into practice. Yet, they seem so devoted to Him?

My friend, in your heart, do you really love God? You see, these people give the appearance of following the Lord, while they love their money more. Today, many people also give the outward impression of being devoted to Christ while remaining inwardly greedy. But Jesus warns that we cannot love God and money at the same time (Matthew 6:24). It is easy to say “I surrender all to Christ” when we don’t have much. It is when we start accumulating wealth that it becomes difficult to prove our love for Christ. That is why the world has this misconception that only the poor and people in need actually need the Lord … it is because of our own behavior unworthy of the Lord, because once He has blessed us with material things, very often we behave much worse than the pagans, as if we don’t know the Word of God… Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
